1966 Fender Stratocaster Original Finish & Electronics

This is a really nice 1966 Fender Stratocaster. It is just about as nice and original as you are going to find. This one is serial number L15640. The finish is completely original and nicer than most you will see. It has been played so you will see various marks and some small areas where the finish is down to the undercoat, but no real heavy areas of wear. It is one of the first with a larger peghead and it has a transitional Fender logo. The electronics are completely original. The pickups are original and dated 5-11-66. The pot codes are 304 6608. There is only a small area of patch wiring in the control cavity. The guitar retains it's original frets which show some wear but are completely playable. The neck is dated "13 APR 66B". The body is dated APR 11 1966 in the neck pocket. The guitar sounds great like you would expect. It is very comfortable as it weighs 7 lbs 8 oz. The guitar comes in an original hardshell case that shows a good bit of exterior wear. We purchased this guitar from the 2nd owner who had it for over 35 years. It is rare to find guitars like this these days that just hasn't been messed with. If a 60s Strat is what you are craving, this one is sure to satisfy!
