JOB DESCRIPTION 　 Job Title: Editor in Chief Reports to: Director, Content and International Editor in Chief Overall Purpose Manage the editorial programming and development of all aspects of the Starlounge branded site in-line with the business objectives and content strategy in order to attract and retain users. Key Responsibilities 　 • Maintain and enforce the Starlounge style guidelines and content quality across all sites with strong daily communication with the MSN and Starlounge editorial teams - including 3rd party contributors • Produce localised and international daily editorial output as specified by the partnership requirements. • Generate creative and unique content that will attract new audiences that is accessible through various multimedia channels including on-line, mobile phones and portable devices. 　 • Produce and maintain the websites editorial output and content using PhotoShop, FTP, photo agency websites and the Starlounge content management system. • Produce daily voice over audio for video segments using Adobe Audition (or similar) • Manage expectations and implement the production processes ensuring such projects are in-line with deadlines and budget restrictions. • Manage daily communication with the MSN editorial team and respond to issues or business risks • Design and manage the Starlounge editorial event calendar with monthly meetings to present the calendar to MSN • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the social media space and encourage the business to use these tools to drive traffic to the co-branded Starlounge sites. • Analysis and understanding of audience based research to assist with the development of relevant content for the target audience. • Track and report online statistics. • Demonstrate creative leadership with the production of the online content in accordance with the Starlounge policy and style guide. • Provide sound judgement on content and editorial policy issues. • Ensure the sites are optimised according to the SEO Guidelines (Search Engine Optimisation). • Ensure the websites comply with operational requirements of Starlounge International AB and government legislation covering privacy, spam and copyright laws. • Maintain an advance level of awareness of developments in the new media industry. 　 Required Skills and Knowledge · Have people skills and a broad network of contacts in the entertainment business · Experience in producing celebrity news content for either radio, television, newspapers and/or online. · Ability to produce, write and edit articles. · Ability to navigate on photo agency websites, understanding photo agency restrictions, selecting photos for slideshows and articles and putting them into context. · Desired experience in producing speaks and using Adobe Audtion (or similar). · Experience in web publishing including using Photoshop is desirable. · Understanding of all web based tools and experience using content management systems. · Fluent in English (speaking and writing) 　 　 Competencies/Personal Characteristics · Actively demonstrates commitment to the Starlounge values and role models the behaviours associated with them. · Adapts quickly when circumstances change, and is able to prioritise conflicting projects and deadlines. · Willingness to adapt in a fast changing environment and can accept the pressures and time demanded in the industry. · Builds teamwork and co-operation across Starlounge by sharing resources, knowledge and skills, and offers help and advice when sought by colleagues. · Communicates with all team members in a timely and clear manner, and is open and honest with their communication. · Can look at existing situations and problems and come up with creative solutions. · Takes responsibility and is willing to be held accountable for their actions. · Accepts feedback/criticism and improves performance as a result. · Has a high level attention to detail.
